A person living in a quiet village away from the polluted, overloaded metropolis would hardly think to spend time and effort on arrangement of trees in the house, as all his life passes among them anyway. But a city-dweller longing for a rest from vanity and healthy air won't find this idea strange.

It's clear that with all your desire you can't grow a birch or an oak in the apartment. It seems that at the first opportunity we must go to the countryside or go to the nearest park for a picturesque landscape. Or... To plant a tree at home, but an indoor one! That's what we're going to choose today.
All in its place
Before you go to the plant store, decide where you're going to put the tree you bought. It's where you want to put it that will greatly narrow down your list of candidates. For example, you think that putting an indoor tree near a window, a source of natural light, would be the best solution. Right, but most species are simply incompatible with drafts, so an open vent can seriously harm or even kill your plant. Also, don't forget that there are radiators under most windows. The important thing to remember is not to place the tree near any radiator. Now you can proceed to the selection of an indoor tree.
Birch Grove
If your soul lacks a birch grove, then pay attention to the Ficus Benjamin. Numerous varieties of this plant have different shapes, sizes and leaf colors, but all of them at least vaguely resemble our birch.

How to take care of Benjamin Ficus
Ficus Benjaminus belongs to the genus Mulberry. In the wild, like our birch, it reaches 25 meters in height, in domestic - 1.5 m. In general, the plant is unpretentious, but it still requires attention.
Lighting and temperature
Ficus Benjamin requires good diffused light. The best place of residence for this tree is a western or eastern window. In winter give the ficus extra light (phytolamps are better). The optimal temperature for healthy growth of the plant ranges from 20-25 ° C. However, experienced growers say it is not so much important to monitor the temperature as to make sure that the watering matches the temperature. Read about this in the next paragraph.
Watering
Watering this home-grown "birch" should be treated with the utmost responsibility. With not enough water the leaves fall off and if the plant gets too wet the roots start to rot, which also leads to leaf fall. To avoid this and to give it enough water for a long time we recommend to use the LECHUZA watering system. You can find out how this system works in the animation below.

Fertilizer
Fertilize your plants first time in March/April (once a month). In May, increase the dose to once every three weeks. And once every two weeks - until the end of summer.

Many people think that only a big palm tree can decorate the interior properly. Indeed, the sprawling branches of such a tree make a proper impression. However, if you have limited space, you can also get a small specimen in a stylish table trough.
The charming Drazena Marginata is perfect for this role. This palm tree will certainly create comfort and the right microclimate in the room. But how to take care of it?

Watering
In winter the room Drazen Marginata does not like excessive watering, but in summer it will thank you for it if you also regularly sprinkle the leaves. The main thing is not to overdo it, since dracenas can't tolerate stagnant water in their pots. A LECHUZA planter with auto irrigation can help to avoid this mistake. Over a period of 12 weeks, it needs to suck up the optimal amount of water from the water tank. It was originally grown as an ornamental plant in China, today you can buy this tree in most flower stores.
But before you get an indoor lemon, you'll want to know that in matters of care it's quite a fruit.

Lighting and temperature
Usually the pot with a lemon tree is placed on the windowsill, as close as possible to the source of natural light. However, it does not like direct sunlight. This tree is sensitive to sudden changes in temperature: it immediately begins to drop the leaves, unopened buds and flowers. Optimal conditions for healthy lemon growth are considered +16 +18 ° C, and the humidity must be at least 60%.
Watering
Constancy and regularity - here's the key to success in the matter of watering the lemon tree. It is important to arrange watering so that the soil is always moist, but the water in the pot does not stagnate. How to do this, how much and when to water the lemon - it is difficult to say exactly. The speed of drying of the ground ball depends on many factors: air temperature, season, volume of the pot, etc. Ideally, a lemon tree should absorb the right amount of moisture on its own. Such a process can be achieved by an intelligent watering system.
Feeding
Feeding in summer twice a month.
Tip: You can put the plant in a substrate that already contains this fertilizer and forget about fertilizing for a year!
