10 DIY tree decorating tips from designers

  1. The place for the Christmas tree should be near the outlet, so you do not have to run wires through the room, regularly tripping over them. If necessary, you can even move the furniture a little bit. However, modern battery-operated lights give full independence from outlets.
  2. Often the Christmas tree is placed by the wall. To save square footage, trim the back branches slightly. This allows you to place the tree closer to the wall, and the cut branches can be used in the decor.
  3. Place the Christmas tree opposite the mirror - so it will be visually larger in the house.
  4. If the tree is real and you need to cut its height, do it from below, so as not to lose its triangular shape.
  5. Professional decorators start decorating Christmas trees with LED or electric lights, in general, with light. This way you can distribute it as evenly as possible and make sure there are no gaps.
  6. As practice shows, the more light - the more beautiful and richer the tree looks. Make sure you have enough of it.
  7. Start decorating the tree from the inside of the tree. First use solid-colored ornaments (they are usually simpler), which will be the base. Then add more decorative and original Christmas decorations.
  8. Large decorations usually hang closer to the center of the tree to give it more depth, smaller decorations toward the end of the branches.
  9. If you like a particular Christmas toy, buy it in multiples of three. This will keep a balance in the decor.
  10. Dear to your heart or your wallet glass ornaments put on top, so there is less risk of breaking them.

These are general recommendations that will help you decorate any Christmas tree. But the question remains - how exactly to decorate? Even if you are not a decorator and not a designer, and you can get a Christmas tree, as in pictures with stylish interiors in magazines. The main thing - do not decorate it chaotically, and think about the concept and colors. You can even draw a scheme beforehand.

Less we will show you examples of interesting ideas how to decorate your tree in style and atypical way.
